Angelyn Fanlo HARP & PIANO
|
Born to parents of Filipina and Spaniard descent, Angelyn Fanlo began her musical training at the age of 8 on the
piano. At age 13, she began conjoining formal training in both piano and harp under the tutalege of Emily
Laurance, former harp professor at UNC-Chapel Hill and currently chair of the harp department at San Francisco
Conservatory, and Elizabeth Maisonpierre, professor of piano at UNC-Pembroke. She graduated with a Bachelor
of Music with piano concentration from East Carolina University in December of 2005 while continuing extensive
training in the harp with Anita Burroughs-Price, principal harpist for the North Carolina Symphony, who was under
her direction since 2002.
Fanlo has extensive experience in performing throughout eastern North Carolina on both instruments and is in
demand in choral, weddings, funerals, church events, and other special occasions and currently holds a private
studio for both harp and piano. In 2005, she collaborated with fellow friend and harpist Domenique Tanzini in
Raleigh, NC as the first pedal and lever harp duo in North Carolina and has performed for events throughout the
Triangle region of the state.
